This week's Thursday Movie Classic is the lovely, Danish film classic ENGLEN I SORT (the angel in black) with Emil Hass Christensen, Helle Virkner, Dorte Jørgensen and Poul Reichard.
The beautiful and charming Betina has been married for three years to the psychiatrist, senior physician, dr. med. Arne Brant. They are in good circumstances, have an adorable little daughter, Bente, and should thus have all the conditions to live happily in their comfortable villa. But Betina is restless. All year round, she sacrifices her time and her husband's money to help society's needy. It has become her passion to be part of auxiliary committees and to be a leader in philanthropic work. Refinedly elegant, always dressed in black, this "angel in black" is admired for her sacrifice.
