Each year, a great number of films are nominated for the various awards presented at the Cannes Film Festival. In order to find the winner each year, a jury must also be selected whose finest task is precisely to make this choice. The jury members are found among a large selection of international filmmakers and artists: actors, screenwriters, directors, etc. These are selected based on their work and the respect of their colleagues from the industry. To lead the jury, a Jury President is selected, who is an internationally recognized and respected film personality.
Over time, several Danes have had the honor of being elected as jury members to the Cannes Jury, and have thus sat at the table when the prizes were to be awarded. Experience some of them today on Kino Club:
