From 17 - 28 May 2022, the 75th edition of the iconic Cannes Film Festival will be taking place. The film festival was first held in 1946 in the French resort town of Cannes and has since been held every year except for one. Throughout the years, the festival has worked towards the same goal: to draw attention to and raise the profile of films, with the aim of contributing towards the development of cinema, boosting the film industry worldwide and celebrating cinema at an international level.
In 1959, the Marché du Film was added as part of the Cannes Film Festival and the festival took on a new dimension, targeting the business part of the film industry. Here, professionals from the film industry, rights holders, buyers, etc. can watch films, make agreements and enter into collaborations on projects. Since then, the Marché du Film has become the largest gathering for the film industry, where over 12,500 professionals, including 1,690 buyers and 5,518 companies meet.
Of course, we also want to be part of this, so we have collected some films that have previously been selected for the Cannes Film Festival. Watch them right now, at Kino Club.
